My village stay at 7 km near Nemours and 80 km south east of Paris.
For the first time, between 1100 and 1110 this place was design as "Castanetum" in a latin document.
The name of Chatenoy les Saint Mathurins was mention the first time in some legal documents concerning the "dîme" a tax of this périod ; this tax was collected by the Temple knights of Beauvais en Gatinais.
Du Guesclin was probably for one périod the owner of the casttle.
The 6 Mai 1575, three years after Saint Barthelemy, was signed in Chatenoy a treaty called "Paix de Monsieur" one the numerous signed during this périod.
The casttle was owned by :
-Du Guesclin
-François de Cullant
-Picot comte de Dampierre
-Famille Nicolaï
-Famille Thierry
