The Deudeuche

The surprising life of this small car start in 1935 with a astonishing specification :

A small car witch can transport 2 peasants using clog, 50 kg of potatoes or a small barrel of wine at a 60 km/h maximum speed with a consumption of 3 liters of gasoline for 100 km.

This vehicule must also go on the very bad small roads; it must be drived by novice driver woman.

It must be confortable ; a basket of eggs on the rear seat must arrive undamaged even if the car run on the worst road.

The price must be low aside the competitors and the esthetic had really no importance.

The name of this project was T P V for Très Petite Voiture = Very Small Car

Down 2 prototypes of the T P V; both use water cooling. The twin cylinder air cooled engine will be design after 1941 by the genius Becchia.

In 1939 250 Pre-serial TPV where partially build and the car was ready for Salon de L'automobile ; in fortunatly war was coming.

Finally the car : the 2 CV was exhibited for the first time the 7 october 1948.The car respect alls specifications specially for esthetic.
